| WF:
First of all, thank you for the interview. How are you?
AA:
I am good. Training hard. Thank you for interviewing me.
WF: In your last fight you defeated
Marcio Cruz, tell us something about him and the fight.
AA:
Cruz is very good at Jiu Jitsu and a good competitor. I wanted to
win that fight very bad so I trained hard and was able to get the
win.
WF:
What did you do since the fight?
AA:
I
had a few weeks off and was able to relax. Then came back to gym
and started to prepare for UFC 70.
WF:
How do you develop your strategy for each fight?
AA:
I
try to see all the fights of the opponents and we put together a
strategy as a team.
WF:
What is your biggest weapon in a fight?
AA:
My
wish to the best fighter is my biggest weapon.
WF:
What does it mean for you to fight for the UFC?
AA:
It’s
my way to be a good fighter and it’s almost been 7 years now
in the UFC. UFC gave me some glory and I became famous from them.
It is like my home.
WF:
Aside from your early fights for M-1 you never competed outside
the UFC, have you ever thought of fighting for anouter oranisation,
for example PRIDE?
AA:
Now
I am with UFC but everything changes in this world so I don’t
know what will happen in the future.
WF:
What or who was the biggest challenge in your carrier so far?
AA:
I
hope that my biggest challenge and opponent is in the future. Everyone
was a tuff guy to fight but each fight was a step forward for my
biggest fight.
WF:
Your next oponent will be Fabricio Werdum, what do you think about
him and your fight? What are his strenghts and weaknesses?
AA:
He
is very strong and has great jiu-jitsu. From what I see he isn’t
afraid to stand with opponents either. It will be a difficult fight
for both of us.
WF:
Without telling to much, what will be your strategy against Werdum?
AA:
Ha. I can not tell you the strategy but it will hopefully be the
right one to win.
WF:
You are a top UFC heavyweight while Fabricio Werdum was a top PRIDE
heavyweight, so your fight could be seen as a indicator for the
balance of power between the UFC and the PRIDE heavyweight division.
Does it put preasure on you or do you ignore such considerations?
AA:
I
try not to worry about the past or who was from where. Right now
he is a UFC heavyweight and our division has great competitors.
WF:
You fought Tim Sylvia three times and won the first of it, but you
lost the following two fights against him. Why do you think you
lost these fights?
AA:
Because
I did...
WF:
Before you lost to Tim Sylvia you looked nearly unbeatable, however,
some people thought you underestimated Sylvia and didn’t train
hard enough. What do you tell this people?
AA:
It’s
partly true what you say here.
WF:
I’m sure you watched the UFC heavyweight championship fight
between Tim Sylvia und Randy Couture at UFC 68. Did you expect Randy
to win the fight?
AA:
I
like Randy. He is tough. I was for sure he was going to beat Sylvia
and I am very happy for him.
WF:
What are your thoughts on the new UFC heavyweight champion Randy
Couture and the unbelievable fact that he catched the heavyweight
title for the third time at the age of 43?
AA:
Like
I said, I am very happy for Randy. He is a great Champion and very
well respected in the MMA world.
WF:
What do you think about professional wrestling like World Wrestling
Entertainment or Total Nonstop Action?
AA:
I like to watch Wrestling and WWE sometimes. It’s entertaining.
WF:
Finally, do you have a message for your fans in Germany, Austria
and Switzerland?
AA:
I
would like to thank all my fans around the world. I receive some
of the nicest letters in the mail and emails from myspace.com/arlovski
and web site www.arlovski.tv from fans in these countries.
