WF: Hello Marc and thank you for taking
some time for WrestlingFever.de
Marc: Thank you very much for taking time
out of your day to talk with me. It is
quite the honor.
WF: Could you introduce yourself to the
german wrestling fans?
Marc: Well my name is “Every Ladies Dream”
Marc Krieger and I have been wrestling for about 7 years now. I wrestle mainly in Northeast US but have done
some work in Canada and now I have gotten the opportunity to work in your wonderful
country of Germany!!
WF: You're still relatively unknown in germany,
even though you're times (2004-2005) occurred with a known name - El Generico.
Many wrestling fans know El Generico, but not many know that you have
previously used the name too! How did this happen?
Marc: HAHA this is a funny story. When I first started in wrestling I did not
know who El Generico was. I was already
working as Marc Krieger and the booker for the first company I worked needed
someone to go out and work again due to someone not showing up. They gave me a mask and called me El
Generico. The crowd loved the character
and I was tagged up with another wrestler named El Cmar and we became the
ELs. After I found out there was already
an El Generico I stopped using the character immediately. The funny thing is a couple years ago the
first time I worked on a show with El Generico and explained to him who I was
and he remembered the character being used.
I still to this day have a picture of him and I in our masks both as El
Generico.
WF: You dropped the El Generico name and
became Marc Krieger. What is Marc Krieger all about? Who had the idea of the
''every ladies dream'' gimmick?
Marc: Marc Krieger is just a very serious cocky person. He knows he can beat you and will take your
woman in the process. The idea of “Every
Ladies Dream” came from college. One
night one of my friends called me that and it stuck. Ever since then Marc Krieger became known as
“Every Ladies Dream” Marc Krieger.
WF: You are 25 years old and a professional
wrestler since 2003. You fought in germany last fall, which other countries would you like to visit?
Marc: To be honest I would like to visit every country that will allow me to
wrestle. But the two that I would like
to visit are Japan and Mexico.
WF: Talking about germany...
what are your impressions? Did you have the possibility to take a closer look
at our country?
Marc: I was very impressed with your country.
Every one of you is very respectful and inviting. I felt very comfortable and want to come back
as much as I can. I was able to take a
closer look at Hamburg and it is a very beautiful city.
I hope next time I come over I can stay longer and see much more of the
country.
WF: I read that you had the honor to train
with some wrestling legends such as Ted DiBiase. Can you tell us something
about it - possibly on the various styles of each legend?
Marc: I was able to do many camps with
legends and current superstars. Ted
Dibiase was one of them and it was amazing.
Each time you do a camp you learn something new and take something
different away from it to help better you as a worker. Ted Dibiase taught us more than anything
about the importance of the storytelling and the mentality of less is more. I have done some other camps over time with
workers such as Colt Cabana, Petey Williams, Claudio Castignoli, and Chris
Hero. Each one was an honor and quite
the learning experience.
WF: Is there a legend that really impressed
you or influenced your style?
Marc:
I would have to say the 2 people that I really liked watching that
influenced my style are Rick Rude and Rick Martel.
WF: You had a two day TNAW try-out last
may. How did it happen? What are your memories and your experiences?
Marc:
I was told about this by another wrestler named Kage. He asked if I wanted to go along and I jumped
at the chance, who wouldn’t!!! This was
one of the better experiences for me. To
be able to see what the major companies are looking for and what you as an
individual wrestler can improve to become more marketable. An interesting fact from this tryout is the
current wrestlers Robbie E and Cookie were signed to deals from that tryout.
WF: How does it feel to wrestle in front of
a TNAW scout such as Terry Taylor?
Marc: It was an HONOR. He has an
amazing mind for wrestling and is just an overall amazing person. For instance he made sure to remember workers
girlfriends or wives names to put us all on a more personable level than just a
tryout basis. Also he spent a good
portion of time with each wrestler giving honest feedback on where the workers
were good and where they could improve.
WF: If you compare the u.s. indy
and german wrestling scene, are there any differences? Maybe between the
american and the german fans, the style, the promotions or procedures?
Marc: Their are many differences between the US and
German indy scene. For one the emphasis
on US wrestling is based more around the entertainment aspect. In Germany
it is more based on the actual wrestling.
As far as the style goes for US wrestling it seems to me to be more
based on spots and flashy high flying moves and in Germany it is based on more technical mat based wrestling.
WF: Can you imagine to leave america
and move to europe – especially germany
or the U.K.?
Marc: If I had the opportunity right now to move over to Europe to be able to wrestle
full time and make it my full time job I would leave in a heart beat no
questions asked. I like travelling and
love the people over in Germany. I think it would be an
experience to be able to be a part of a new culture. Also being able to live my dream of doing
this full time would be a no brainer in terms of taking the chance and moving
over the pond.
WF: You mainly fought for NWA-New York in the
past. Are there any other promotions – except of WWE or TNAW – where you would
like to wrestle?
Marc: I would love to work for ROH (Ring of Honor). If not them I would love to work for JAPW
(Jersey All Pro Wrestling), Dragon Gate, and Chikara.
WF: How do you like ROH? Are there any ROH
wrestler you would like to wrestle or you would like to train with?
Marc: I love Ring of Honor Wrestling.
When I get the chance to watch it I do.
Out of all the ROH wrestlers I would love to wrestle with would be El
Generico, or Christopher Daniels.
WF: You usually wrestle in the singles
competition, can you imagine a long-time tag team maybe with your part time
team partner Superbad?
Marc: If the opportunity presented itself
where him and I could work as a tag team in a successful run I would not be
opposed. He is one of my better friends
in the business and to be able to work with him and have him by my side while
on the road would be awesome. I think we
have the chemistry and the ability to be successful in the tag team ranks. But if I had the choice I would prefer to
work singles and stay on the path that I am at.
WF: You have the choice: heel or face?
Which role do you prefer and why?
Marc: I love being a heel. It is
probably one of the most rewarding things for me in wrestling. I love going out and people not knowing who I
am and when im finished with them they are swearing at me or booing me so loud
you can not hear yourself think. I do
not mind being a face and it also has its own set of rewards but in the end
being a heel is where my heart lies.
WF: You will return to germany
and wrestle for the Pro Wrestling Fighters promotion in 2011. Many fans will
ask me ''Where can we follow Marc Krieger''? Do you have a homepage, facebook
or twitter account?
Marc:
Twitter: twitter.com/themarckrieger
WF: Thank you for this interview it was a
pleasure for me. I hope we can talk again in the future. Good luck and all the
best.
Marc:
The pleasure was all mine. I can
not wait to be back in your wonderful country to be able to wrestle in front of
your amazing fans.
Thanks!!
