WF: Hello Necro Butcher. At first I’d like to thank you for the interview. How are you?
Necro Butcher: Thank you for considering me for your interview and to answer your first question , I am doing better than I think, sir. Better than I think.
WF: How did you become a wrestler and what have you done before starting wrestling?
Necro Butcher: I became a wrestler after training at the Sportatorium in Dallas, Texas under Black Bart and Jay Diego. before that, I was in the U.S. Army for 4 years.
WF: Where did you get the name “Necro Butcher” from? Does it have a special meaning for you?
Necro Butcher: My first gimmick was that of a soldier, which I hated, but at that time, young wrestlers did not choose their gimmicks, they were given to them. I wasnt wrestling that much and a promoter in the Fort Worth, Texas area named David Farmer who ran a promotion called Insane Hardcore Wrestling, called with the idea for the Necro Butcher gimmick and I jumped on it. The rest, as you say, is history.
WF: Where do you prefer to work at? CZW or IWA-MS?
Necro Butcher: I am grateful to both promotions for what they have done with me. CZW has used me every show for almost 6 years now and IWA has put me in some very high profile matches over the years as well. I love them both equally.
WF: You are well-known for your ultra violent matches. What was the worst injury you’ve ever suffered?
Necro Butcher: I would probably say the horrific arm injuries which both resulted in tremendous loss of tissue and strength in my left arm. The first being from the superplex through two ladders stacked with light tubes from No Blood, No Guts, No Glory 2002 in IWA and the second being the side suplex off the Ryder Truck through flaming glass and tables at CZW`s Tournament of Death 3.
WF: There are many people who criticize ultra violent wrestling. What’s your opinion on this people?
Necro Butcher: My opinion ? They dont know what the hell they are talking about.
WF: You had matches with great athletes like Samoa Joe, Homicide and others. Which one was your favorite match and why?
Necro Butcher: The first match with Samoa Joe from Philadelphia stands out in my head. It was a big test for me against one of the top wrestlers in the world, and my career really took off after that.
WF: What is your opinion about TNA and WWE? Would you wrestle for one of this promotion?
Necro Butcher: Certainly I would, but I seriously doubt they would want me due to my reputation and appearance.
WF: The users of our discussion forum had the chance to ask one question to you. I’ll now ask these questions to you. I hope this is ok.
“Burny” wants to know: What are your next aims in wrestling? Will you fight for titles in the near future?
Necro Butcher: The next title I would like to challenge for is the Big Japan Pro Wrestling Tag Team Titles with Madman Pondo as my partner.
“DXMEMBER” wants to know: Is it possible to ignore or switch the pain off or is it some kind of “intoxication“?
Necro Butcher: The crowd`s involvement plays a significant part in this, but it is impossible to truly swith any pain off.
“@lex” wants to know: What was your hardest match?
Necro Butcher: Some early match in my career with Hotstuff Hernandez stand out in my head as very brutal, but fun , and they helped make me who I am today.
“Eintopf” wants to know: When will you come to Germany again?
Necro Butcher: Hopefully, very soon.
“scab” wants to know: How do the fans push you to do more sicker actions?
Necro Butcher: I want the fans to talk about me on their way home from the show, so I always try to steal the show for that reason.
“Blaize” wants to know: When did it come in your mind to wrestle in ultra violent matches?
Necro Butcher: When I first became aware of IWA and CZW, I wanted to compete there in that style.
“Blue Meanie” wants to know: What do you think about the old ECW (1993-2001) ?
Necro Butcher: I loved it, I was a huge fan. It was my first exposure to the legend that is Sabu as well such greats as Terry Funk, Public Enemy, the Bad Breed, and many others.
WF: Finally there is one last question: Do you have a message for your fans in Germany, Austria and Switzerland?
Necro Butcher: Only to thank them for their support and as long as they keep trying, so will I.
WF: Thanks a lot for the interview. We wish you the best for your career.
Necro Butcher: Thank you as well. Sorry it took so long for my reply.
